Thanks Thad. At the end of the day it's just a system for managing and automating workflows. It doesn't work for everybody as individual & business needs can differ tremendously.

You wrote: "While author David Allen’s advice is really on the mark, at times his system gets a little complicated."

That's my take away too (from the book). But GTD obviously works for many! Great review.

Hi Ciara,

thanks for your reply. Didn't know that about bacteria but as long as those germs don't kill you they'll certainly make you stronger ;-).
I think working outside in the fresh air is a great way to compensate for the time behind the computer. At least at my end.

Cheers!

Hi Raymond, I've recently started gardening and find it very calming. I have heard that there is a bacteria in the soil that actually helps to keep us stress free that is why gardeners are generally a happy bunch!

A good therapy of obsessive compulsive disorder, and for perfectionism, is art, as a self-help or as a guided professional therapy, art therapy. It helps you, or forces you, to do something that is always going to be less than perfect, especially in the beginning. It helps you get away from perfectionism, and once you get to the point that your art work looks like "something," it contributes to self-esteem. It is a "safe" way to fail. If you produce a painting that is less than perfect, you can always white it out with primer and start over. Painting with oil or acrylics is positive therapy for anyone with OCD, and can help break the mental chains that tie us to our habits or rituals. It provides a measure of mental freedom. http://www.winmentalhealth.com/arts_therapy.php
